Our Mission
The Uganda Martyrs Society exists to foster and spread the Catholic faith through devotion to the Uganda Martyrs, while promoting moral values, youth empowerment, economic and human development, environmental protection, and active civic engagement. We strive to support communities—locally and globally—through compassionate outreach and faith-based initiatives that inspire justice, dignity, and shared prosperity.
In pursuit of the mission, we strive to:
Empower the Catholic faithful and other people of goodwill to emulate the faith, commitment and sacrifice of the Holy Martyrs of Uganda in their personal, family and community endeavors.
Celebrate and promote, in a special way, all saints of African descent worldwide, and to actively support campaigns for the beatification and canonization candidates, whose share African ancestry, and those who have served the Church in Africa and her Diaspora.
Advance the social teaching of the Catholic Church, by growing and promoting our devotion to the Holy Martyrs of Uganda, in pursuit of social justice, stewardship of the earth, and the common good.
Encourage and advocate for religious freedoms, inter-faith dialogue and ecumenical practices for the collective well-being of the Africans and the African Diaspora.
